Hey guys, just wanted to talk about my own problem that whilst I think isn't entirely unique to me, it's also not that common. Here's the thing. I would call myself good looking, I'm confident and talking to strangers is natural to me. I have some internal game problems occasionally, as I'm sure even the best do sometimes, but most of the time, when I game, I do it confidently and come out happy with the results.
I wasn't always like this though, I grew up really skinny and wearing glasses and always topped my classes in school, I was pretty much a nerd, never afforded much respect. As a result of this, I've developed a massive 'gotta prove myself' syndrome.
I actually go out of my way to show others just how good i am. Its been ingrained into me from an early age that I am by default, worthless, until proven otherwise (even though logically I now know this doesn't apply anymore, it still sits in the back of my mind)
So I am gaming for all the WRONG reasons. I will get the # of a hot chick just so OTHERS SEE ME DO IT. I will grind and kiss close girls because my friends SAID I COULDN'T.
The problem really becomes apparent when I am alone. When there is no one for me to impress, I almost lose the desire to game. I will start getting heavy AA, I am nowhere near as witty as usual, overall I just become more the nerdy skinny guy I was in childhood. I know this is incredibly beta male of me, gaming for respect instead of gaming for women, and was wondering what advice any of you could afford me? Does anyone else feel like this?
