I'm thinking social circle or indirect game would be your best option. I have a good friend who is from Pune. He does a lot of direct cold approach in the US, but he said you can't really do it in India. Maybe an opener like, "hey don't I know you from..." would work well there.

Am Indian - have visited Amritsar multiple times - can confirm that "game" in India works extremely rarely in a small number of metropolitan cities. Works in Bombay, Gurgaon, and a couple of other places. Amritsar isn't the kind of crowd (in my experiences) where women would be that open about hooking up.

It's an extremely religious place and has a different kind of sanctity, it doesn't help that people there are extremely religious and hardcore Sikhs. Best of luck anyway, I'm sure you can get something or the other, the place has a huge tourist influx too, but I've realised that across all of India, it's rare to come across situations discussed in other posts in this sub.

Game works everywhere, but in conservative countries talking to strangers of the opposite sex only happens in the bigger cities, and sometimes only in certain classes in those bigger cities.

In Iran for instance, most of the American style hooking up is forbidden and practically illegal. But humans are humans. Biology has needs. Life always finds a way.

So in Iran, there are secret private parties. The internet and cellphones have made it easier. Anytime you can physically gather a group of young with minimal adult supervision, you have a shot.

So if you want to meet a girl, you need to figure out where these house parties are happening. And if you have the means, the real move is to throw these parties yourself.

The same thing plays out in super Christian conservative America. It's just way easier to do it here.

Otherwise you're stuck with your culture's way of doing things.
