I always mess up when the girl asks where are you from.

Currently I am in Ukraine (hell yeah!). I try to bank on the fact that I am a foreigner, the problem is that I was born in Slovenia which is very similar to the Ukraine in terms of culture and language. However, when I was 5 my family moved to Switzerland. That's where I grew up and that's where my pride is. Being from Switzerland is quite a high value statement no matter where you're at, but whenever it comes up, willingly or not, I come across as a fake. Due to my name and language it's not possible to avoid, sooner or later it always comes up.

So how should I say that I am from Switzerland, BUT I was born in Slovenia. Or I am from Slovenia BUT I live in Switzerland.
