Prefect, don't talk about yourself. During a conversation keep the ball in her court. Girls love talking, especially about themselves. It's amazing how you can say 3 words, nod your head and smile at the right times, and have people walking away from the conversation saying, "wow, I really like that guy." Learn to lead a convo to what the other person is passionate about and watch them fall in love without you saying a word. Stop focusing on your side of the convo and start listening, when you do this you won't have to be interesting or know what to say.

Start the conversation about your work with her by saying you're a photographer and that you have figured out how to make your parents cry for 6 years because your back up plan is a musician. Self deprecating humor goes a long way. It shows you don't have an ego and can be humble.

If you want to make conversation about your height/lankiness just walk up to a girl at the bar and ask her if you can sit next to her so you feel like the same height as everyone else.

Opening lines like that tend to get the ball rolling on more personal conversation because it shows you're not scared to make fun of yourself.
