Day one in a new city, decided to go out and day game and try to push for an instant day / same day close. Ended up not succeeding to that end, but I had a lot of awesome interactions (and some failures). At the end of the day, I fundamentally enjoy approaching because I get to bring positivity to other people's days. I really feel like I've come a long way since I started truly putting in effort in December. At this point I have confidence that any approach I make while in state fail only if we are not compatible. Hope this can be inspiration for some of you!
Two set street: I teased her about making her friend buy shoes instead of Christmas gifts for her parents. Number close.
Two set street: She was truly incredibly beautiful so at a loss for words I opened direct. I think my honesty was conveyed, so she was patient with me despite some fumbled words on my end. Our initial vibe/compatibility was great, and I remember her friend trying to pull her away but she stayed. Number close.
One set cafe: Opened direct. Turns out she was 10 years older than I am, had a boyfriend, and considered me a little too young. I stayed in set anyway and we had a fun conversation about design and pole dancing, and agreed to hang out as friends sometime. Instagram close.
One set restaurant: Entered the restaurant just to talk to the cashier. Opened direct, and she had a coworker take over to talk to me. She seemed a little inexperienced, unconfident, or otherwise flustered, so it was a little difficult to move the conversation smoothly. WeChat close.
Three set street: My friend opened indirect(?). I winged for him, entertaining one of the three girls. As my friend was the one leading the set, I took a more relaxed role and had a light, casual conversation about traveling and fashion. Turns out my friend's target had a boyfriend, so he was rejected. My conversation partner turned out to be a cool girl, so I closed her. Instagram close.
One set mall: Stunningly attractive girl working at a female jewelry store. I went absurdist and asked for a recommendation for me, and jabbed at her for not wearing a watch herself. Proceeded to role play by trying to sell her a watch because she would need it to escape bad dates. She was cracking up, which was just great vibes all around. Unfortunately rejected me when I asked if she would like to go out sometime.
Two set mall: I laughed at a Chinese mother and daughter checking out rice cookers together because it was so quintessentially Asian. I realized that I wasn't fully physically attracted to her, so I ejected. She later re-approached me and asked me for my number. I admired her courage and gave it. I think I'll agree to a date if she asks.
One set mall: She was trailing behind her three other friends. Opened direct, and successfully cold read her being an artist because she was carrying two little notebooks on her. She didn't bother to catch up to her friends, so it felt like I was in, but it turns out she had a boyfriend. I liked her relaxed demeanor nonetheless, so I agreed to her "let's be friends" counteroffer and gave her my number. I doubt she will reach out to me, though.
Two set mall: Opened direct, but she refused to look at me when talking to me. Her friend was very into me, though... Ejected from that situation.
Two set mall: Complimented her hoodie without the intention of opening, but after seeing her wonderful smile I opened direct, saying just that. Had a fun conversation about her dream to become a fashion designer, during which I found out she was 16. Reluctantly ejected.
One set mall: Opened indirect at the makeup section of the store. "What brush best fits my facial contours?" It felt comfortable joking around with her, and I enjoyed her laughter. Number close.
One set mall: Actually approached this girl twice... The first time I opened direct and bailed because I got anxious. The second time I opened direct and upon realizing it was the same girl, joked about my awkward first approach. Had a brief conversation about engineering in college. Made tentative plans for Christmas and Snapchat closed.
Now we just wait and see who agrees to come out for a good time!
