Hey everyone. I have a question that, after some searching, couldn't find relevant info on or material to apply in this situation.

Background: within my circle of friends is an hb10, who comes from a typical rich family, fashionable and well-connected social lifestyle. Also in this circle, are a number of people who live abroad, and we all talk on the same chat group. One of our group is a dude who, for reasons I can't remember, is being 'pushed' by other members of the group onto the 10. He usually makes some lame joke (such as taking a general compliment she makes towards everyone, aiming it towards himself and thanking her for it), and she is responsive to it.

The guy being pushed lives and works in another country and is also in a relationship.

As much as I'd like to seduce the 10, I'd much prefer to understand what exactly is going on here and how to manage this situation to be more in my favor; I have good rapport with this girl, we tease each other quite a bit and I have used some of the typical techniques in seduction with her, but have not yet made any solid, meaningful advances on her.

What's going on here? How did this group select this one person to be 'predestined' or 'the suitor' to this girl? What are the mindsets in play here and how could you manipulate this situation to dispel this?

I've had a look around, and don't know if I'm looking at the right info with regards to this (I suppose it would fall under group dynamics). Has anyone got any leads? Any ideas or material that would be good to know in this situation?
