I was at a club with a friend of mine, we see this 2 HB's sitting alone. We decide to approach, my friend decides to sit next to his HB target and I stand next to my target and engage in a conversation while standing. The set flops, but I notice a big mistake I made, because we usually analyse our approaches.

Standing and trying to keep a conversation with someone sitting made me look like I was chasing and investing too much into the conversation, which is in conflict with the Law Of Least Effort. When you're in the situation I was it is difficult to build rapport because there is no flow of conversation, I was standing, bending and going back to the standing position. It is just like dancing and trying to keep a conversation, especially when you're not close to your target, nearly impossible to connect.

To build a connection you have to be level with your partner, they say if want to see whether people are in rapport, look at their movements, more often than not you find they mimmick each other unconsciously. #striders_movement

Or is My application of the Chasing Theory Wrong?
