Reconnecting can be a good thing. It SHOULD be a good thing. I'm in Uni right now and this year I've taken this same girl out on two formal dates, went clubbing, and had her back at my place pretty often. Unfortunately, in the end I was told she was seeing someone. The thing was, at the time, I was really attracted to her. I liked the way she dressed, the way she thought, and the things she spent her time doing. That's fine too. Fast-forward to about 5-6 months of seeing her on campus and the occasional wave and passive conversations, I invited her to the end of the year together I'm hosting. She came. It went well. We hung out and laughed and just enjoyed our time with everyone else.

Okay, so this all seems pretty mundane and nothing special, but that's why I'm taking the time to paint this picture. I feel great about this whole situation being ordinary! Being able to just talk to someone I used to be almost infatuated with like a normal person without the pressure, emotional distress, or any butterflies in my stomach is a complete relief and stands as a testament to what seddit should be teaching you. Yes, be the high quality man that strives to find the high quality woman to match, but even more, just learn how to interact confidently with others without making too much of an effort. One of the main rules I've taken away from seddit which is a really great life lesson in general is DON'T GET HUNG UP. That shit will eat away at your soul until you feel terrible. I'm not hung up on this girl anymore. I invited her to a social gathering, and there aren't any lingering feelings, there isn't any awkwardness; it's just us being mutually understanding and friends with each other.

So to the community of seddit, I would recommend to you, to show yourself how far you've come and to really understand just how much work you've overcome and accomplished, reconnect with one or maybe even two or more old crushes/flames/relationships(maybe lolol.)/hookups/etc. and see if you can just chill and hang out with each other. Who knows? Maybe they'll bring a hot friend along. Progress.
