Hey fellas, I've been aware of this community for a long time but only now starting to take some action.

Something I've always been a little insecure about is my name, it's not crazy long or anything but it's just one of those strange cultural names. I live in the west and typically I can get a rapport going very quickly with whoever (male or female) but I'm not sure if I'm imagining it but:

When it comes time to introduce myself and I say my name - on some/quite a few women anyway it's like a "oh - you probably aren't who I thought you were" and I get relegated away from attraction. To be fair I could look like 3 different ethnicities so when some meets me and picks up on my vibes they assume one thing but the name becomes a dead giveaway for other cultures.

As I write this, I feel like this is just projected insecurity.

But say when I travel, or am far away from home- has anyone just used a fake name out of convenience to get the job done?
