Hey guys, I'll cut to the chase and tell you all that I've never been one for dancing particularly because I never feel like I know what I'm doing. Sure, there's the whole "just have fun" aspect and "the confidence will radiate through your body language" but I'm sure it would be helpful for a lot of you out there to learn how to do more than just step from side to side bouncing your shoulders and hips.

I find dance moves that involve a lot of leaning and bending to be particularly discouraging to learn at first as they require you to really take into consideration the way the upper body is angled and positioned in a 3D space – everything from how to bend the spine, to how to lean your head and how to angle your arms and how to move your arms and shoulders simultaneously can be overwhelming for beginners.

Dance steps, however, can easily be seen and broken down into a list of steps comprising the dance move because there are only so many ways in which we can position our legs.

I hope this thread to be comprised of a list of dance steps not involving too much upper body work that everyone can easily learn and impress their friends with.
