Ever since all those dudes made their pilgrimage to LA for Project Hollywood, it's been clear that the bulk of mainstream PUA lit and conversation is geared towards the city. There are many aspects of traditional pickup and cold approaching that are very specific to the urban environments in which it was developed. There is a dependency on the anonymity of the urban environment-- that you could get blown out and never see anyone from that set again.

I recently moved to a very small town-- even smaller than the small liberal arts college I attended. I'm wondering if anyone has any insight on this situation, especially, which concepts from pickup are still applicable, which concepts to trash, and which concepts actually need to inverted.

-I'm thinking I need to go "indirect" and take the lessons from guys writing about college game and social circles.

-I think value systems are different here-- are all understandings of alpha male instinctual and pre-programmed, or are some culturally derived? I'm trying to indentify the ways people cultivate status here.

-I'm thinking I need to readjust previous understandings of the friendzone, and realize that maybe I need to pass through the friendzone to build trust?
