Okay, so here's the situation. Never been in relationship - single for all 20 years of my life.

I want to make a change and start putting myself out there. Thing is, I usually don't know how.

It's weird too. I'm perfectly fine with becoming friends with people - It's not like I'm depressed either. I feel I personally have a bit of a high level of confidence. I'm not the greatest looking guy, I'm overweight, but I see things through rose coloured glasses. I enjoy my own company, while I do do things that will make me become more fit, I'm still the way I am before.

I've got great friends - Plenty of female friends included. Great family, etc etc.

It's kind of a reverse ordeal for me. I can make friends fine, like if I know I don't want anything out of it, I can do it. But if in the back of my mind, I want something out of it - I freeze. I'll admit, I've gotten better. My friends from school and I go out and one of them usually puts me on the spot. At first I froze and just laughed, but after a while I carried on a conversation. It was kinda shitty too because I'm pretty sure there was one or two times where I could've closed and gotten a number (will give both (number of times I've actually tried going farther with just trying to be myself) times if someone requests it)

It's also weird because, I freeze up when I think I'm trying too hard.

Personally, I see myself as a very shy person, but my friends always tell me it's weird that I think I'm not out going.

Anyway... I was wondering if there's any tips that I could borrow from you guys?

Anyone in the GTA/Toronto area willing to help a fellow redditor in need out? Haha..

P.S. I'm Chinese - Don't know if this is a good thing, but I usually play on racism as a whole - It's succeeded whenever I go all out.

In the end though, I'm just too retarded to figure out myself and how to get a lady.
