A lot of tips recommend building up the confidence so you can approach someone. That doesn't really work if you can't build the courage to talk to someone. Realistically all these tips from seddit and PUAs help in a small way. You don't want your head to be fogged up with a lot of tips to the point you can't even use them. The best way is to be natural and to be cliche, confident about it. Everyone's got their own game, that's why you wont find a pickup line that works every time. Another tip is to stop caring about every little thing that happens. A girl is going to careless about some small fuck up and most of the time, it's you that cares more. If you can be yourself you've already stood out from the other guys that try to hit on her. Laugh at awkwardness, don't let it get to you(this is what makes it awkward btw). PU is like everything else you do, takes practice to get good. You have nothing to lose by approaching a girl and I highly recommend the 5 step rules. Where you count down from 5 and you must do something when you get to 1, or the rule no longer exist. Try going in with an approach without brainstorming things to say (1-2 backup topics won't hurt but don't over think it), it's more natural and you don't over react when you get a different response. I'd recommend watching "Simple Pickup" on youtube btw, not for the tips they give, but to show that approaching girls isn't that big of a deal as you think.

TL:DR build up your courage and strike up a natural conversation with a girl and don't over think everything you do. Just read it, really isn't that long
