I was watching Sons of Anarchy Tuesday, and one of the characters, Gemma, (same actress that plays Leela, for those unfamiliar with SoA) says something I thougt was quite profound:

"Women don't want to be loved; only men do. Women just want to be wanted."

I've thought about this a lot in the past, and I know there has been some of write-ups on this topic, but understanding this has really helped me out as it pertains to understanding game and how women think.

This is why negging can be effective. I've heard a lot of complaining from women about how stupid or annoying negging is; but, this is why it works, to an extent. If one overcompliment a girl, text her too much, buy her a lot of shit, etc., one essentially has given her what she already wants: to be wanted. However, if one demonstrates that he doesn't prefer her to any other girl, it sort of confuses her circuitry. She (hopefully) becomes intrigued and starts to work for it harder for the guy.

This idea is not just limited to negging. I think this is why women are attracted to guys who DGAF (so called "alpha" traits). Finally, I think it's why abundance mentality is one of the most important things guys can have, as not only are you not giving girls the "wanting" too early and without deserving it, but if a guy gets rejected, he doesn't get depressed, oneitis, etc.

As I said, this is just something I've been thinking about lately. Abundace mentality, for me, has made all the difference in the world. We can't make a women feel too wanted, too early. It doesn't work, and they lose interest quickly.

This is not meant to be all inclusive, but hopefully it helps some people understand why PUA tactics can work. I also am very intersted to hear what Seddit thinks.

TL;DR I've come to believe that women want to be wanted, above all else, and that's why some tactics negging work and some mindstates such as abundance mentality are so helpful.
