For everyone not having success, I want to share my story. I had women that were into me growing up, but my crippling self esteem always stopped me from asking them out. I remember a girl literally asking me out in 9th grade, and I couldn't even respond to her I just laughed awkwardly and remained silent. She got mad and slapped me then stormed off, probably thinking I was an asshole but I was just shy and awkward. Another girl was asking if I was going to the school dance, hinting at me to ask her out and I never did.
In college I had a sorority girl randomly give me her number at an intramural basketball game. She knew me from seeing me at a few parties. I never even asked her out, I sent one text and then never texted her again.
I lived this pattern for a while, because I didnt want to face rejection - ironically I was rejecting myself. I've had insecurities based on my looks for a long time. I have a thin and long aquiline nose, ears that stick out a little, crooked teeth and so on. Even though I consider myself to be not attractive, I somehow still received interest from women.
I eventually got fed up and so frustrated that I went out 3 nights a week to meet women. I went to clubs and got some brutal blowouts, but also got laid and pulled a really cute girl away from 2 jacked guys that were 6 inches taller than me and took her back to my house after an hour of meeting her. I got braces as an adult (invisalign) and I was still able to get numbers and get laid even being a below average looking guy with braces. To my surprise, I never once heard a negative comment about my braces. Sometimes they would mention it, and would ask me how much they cost and if I liked it.
P.S. I was living at home during all of this as a 25 year old man.
I got into a 3 year relationship that ended recently because our values werent aligned anymore. She was a super sweet girl that wanted marriage.
I still battle with self esteem issues, and realize that online dating isnt really for me. I do know that, no matter how you look there will be women that are into you. If you can get over yourself and try to make connections with people then you will learn that most people are friendly and bored. People want to be invited to events, and people want to feel wanted and want to feel interesting enough to be listened to. You need to be interested in people and their story, and share your essence with them. I'm a lot more comfortable with rejection, even though it still stings a little at times. Just this weekend I got two girls numbers and asked one out and she went silent over text, so instead of being all sad I just deleted her number. I get to the point quickly with women now, if they want to join me on a date that's cool and if they don't that's cool too.
This one girl at a party was mentioning that this girl liked me. I never believe it when people say this to me, due to my self talk. I still ended up dancing with her, and the next night I heard that she mentioned I was really funny to her girl friend.
My life has changed for the better, when all this started I was making 28k, living at home, had braces. I now make 130k. I learned to hustle and deal with rejection a lot more. If you get anything out of this post I hope its that you can do a lot more and can surprise yourself. Learn to deal with rejection. I'm single again, but deep down I know I can get another it will just take some rejection first.
Thanks for reading.
