So I met this girl last weekend when I visited my friend at college. We were at a party and chatted for quite a while etc. I got to 2nd base with her. We were talking generally and decided we would go on a date at some point.

This week I texted her a bit, but she was quite distant via text (took long to reply, shorter answers). I said that I'd be back at my friends college either this weekend or next, and that we'd go on our date then. She replied 'sounds good' and then asked me why I was coming back so soon. - I guess maybe she is just a bad texter? I don't know.

That was earlier in the week, but I never responded to her. I now know that I'm definitely there next weekend, and would like to take her out/escalate. How do I re-initiate this text conversation? I guess I shouldn't immediately try and schedule it after not talking to her for a few days/ignoring her last text?

Basically what should my plan of action be?
