Text game..

I really enjoy text game. I don't take the minimalist approach that a lot of people suggest here. Instead, I text girls a lot and really have fun with it. Here are some things I've learned:

1) If you can't tell if a message was meant in a serious or a joking kind of way, then assume she's joking around and respond accordingly.

Example:

Her: "I feel so fat right now!"

Me: "You've got nothing on all these fat, lumpy whale rolls I have."

In a situation like this, you can't tell if she's fishing for a compliment or if she's wanting you to ask, "why?" so she can tell you a funny story that just happened to her.

Responding with a joke is always the safest option, imo.

edit: Don't ask, "why?" in situations like this. If she is fishing for a compliment and responds with why shes feeling insecure, then it's going to be much harder to joke it off or dodge it at that point, because you put on your "serious-face" by asking.

2) It's very important when you first start texting a girl to set the standards of how texting is going to work between you two.

Usually if SHE is trying to start a conversation with me, I will give it some time (anywhere from like 5-30 minutes depending on how I feel about it) before I respond to the first message, but then I will respond to her without any artificial delays and have a conversation with her. This communicates that you're willing to have a conversation with her, but only when you've stopped being "busy."

3) Never apologize for taking taking time to respond or for not responding to her. If you get in the habit of texting a lot, some girls will ask you why you aren't responding quicker or why you didn't respond at all. Your replies to this stuff should always be something like this:

-"I don't text when I'm in the middle of something."

-"I don't like texting while I'm driving."

-"I don't like texting a lot when I'm around friends."

-"I got really into a movie I was watching and I forgot."

You want to make sure she gets the idea that texting is never your primary concern for you. Otherwise she'll think something is wrong if you aren't replying to her, which can turn on insecure-psycho-mode for some people.

4) Don't force yourself to respond to her if you don't want to. You aren't required to respond to everything she says. You're allowed to "miss" some messages if you don't like what she said or if you're just not in the mood. Just don't make a habit out of it.

5) If you think your joke/message sounds stupid, then it probably is.

Text game is a tease. You have to move it straight to face to face. No joke. Here is how I find it to work. 1) Get girl interested 2) Get number 3) Text "you out?" 4) wait for answer. 5) If no tell her "Going to XXXXXXX until midnight then meeting some friends 6) If Yes "Really? No invite?" 7) Get in person. 8) Work game.

Love to hear input. Let's put something together. Texting should be prelude or after meeting. You are your best in person body language is important.

TEXT GAME IS NOW still in ages of refinement

I HAD TO GAIN AN ENTIRELY NEW LEXICON OF KNOWLEDGE, this is new and different, cutting edge shit right here.

I am not quite old yet but getting there, and this is a much different game and even the 30 year old girls are into this

Eh. Texting isn't the best way to try and game. Girls get texted all day, everyday. Be the one guy to call her. Leave her a voice message if you must.

Texting is great way to keep up the interest in between your encounters. But if you get stuck texting (Admittedly, it's easy to get caught up in texting but some people are genuinely busy) avoid the smiley faces. Mirror her response time as well. If a solid conversation is being held keep with it.

I'll say this again, AVOID THE SMILEY FACES.
