I recently got out of a three year relationship and this was my first time truly back out in the field.

I was pretty deep into the game before I began dating my now ex girlfriend so I'm no novice to cold approach. I forgot how incredibly powerful that anxiety is the moment before you go up to a group of people you don't know. This snapchat opener made things a lot easier for me last night and perhaps it will help you.

I go up to a group of women in a crowded bar

Me: Hey do you guys have snapchat?

Girls: YES OMG WE LOVE SNAPCHAT

Me: I'm so mad! Every time I'm at this bar I use this [GEOTAG] filter and this time I'm not getting it. Are you ?

Girls: Let me check (They take out their phones to take a trial picture)

Me: Here, take a picture with me and we'll test it.

(I direct that line to the cutest girl in the group, we take a selfie)

Me: Oh we make a cute couple, I'm going to add this to your story so everyone knows your taken now

(add to her snapchat story)

Her: Hahahah blah blah blah

From that point your in. You've established your funny, your clearly telegraphing your intentions but your not creepy and you can lead into regular conversation

I usually follow up with an ingenious "Who are you?" as I shake hands with them.
