I had a discussion with my friends last night and they said that before asking a girl out you have first have to know each other in real life or try to know each other via text and then if you have known each other and maybe eventually try to skip her a few days so that this girl will text you more. I thought that's only possible when she's already (extremely) attracted to you. But will not necessarly lead to a date when she isnt attractive and will flake even more.

I said no, it's better to ask a girl out directly or in a fastest way you can, so that know that she's interested instead of sending pontless texts/snaps/... while in the mowent she's maybe fucking other boys and you think that you have her when it's not.

Can you tell me why that's the case? I always believed that's the way you do it, because texting a girl means nothing before you asked her out.
