Before I start, I must confess that I personally don’t use Tinder for getting laid. I think it’s a great app for meeting new people, but most of all – it’s a great app where you can practice self-confidence (at least the virtual one) and develop a certain way of charisma and learn a thing or two about women. And as always – don’t feel ANY sorrow when a girl un-matches you on Tinder or even if you don’t get matches for a long period of time, seriously… There are tons of chicks, so don’t worry and keep practicing. You may learn something valuable for real life approaches too I guess. And don’t read this if you are a Tinder pro. This is intended for guys who want to impress and try it and act nice. Disclaimer: the following paragraphs took me a few hours, hope it helps; however it is just based solely on my humble opinion so it may not work for you and it’s absolutely okay to disagree with me. And sorry for the long post. I just like them, that's all.

Let’s begin with the simple things. If you are good looking and you get girls easily, you can skip this part (well, even the whole seddit I guess). Women on Tinder are basically: hot, looking for fun and from my experience mostly single. An average male Tinder user swipes right in 9 out of 10 cases without even checking the chicks’ profile. An average girl Tinder user swipes left in 9 out of 10 cases (just a brief guess, but you get the idea; and I’m sure it’s been said here zillion times). But girls like to read the men’s profile and know him “better” before swiping to either side. Now some facts before we move on:

  • I had “redesigned” my profile 4 times in total
  • I use Tinder for 1 month and 1 day sharp (today is 1/12/15)
  • My pictures on Tinder differ significantly from pictures I have on Facebook (I created a special folder with “only I can see the content” privileges and I’ve put all my “Tinder pictures” there)
  • I started with 2 photos I had taken in the past (+- 1 year old photos)
  • Now I have 5 (4 is enough too) photos, though only 1 shows my “close up” of my face (because personally, I wouldn’t give myself a high score on the 1-10 scale; but I’m not fat or anything so at least that’s nice, lol)
  • When I used my lame profile, I got 3 matches in 14 days (plus a lot of “you have a match -- instant un-match from her” issues)
  • When I tried to work on my profile and managed to edit it well in a certain way, I got 6 relatively hot matches in just 2 days (I use the app daily just for fun and swiping right all the time) and who knows what’s going to happen in the future… and yes, it may be just a luck…
  • Tinder is just an app – don’t take it too seriously. Real life approaches still matter the most.

Now the key thing that worked for me was the splendid combination of photos and “about me”. I’m not sure whether or not my updates were “correct”, but it seems that it turned out to be a positive turnout of events. Another series of facts incoming:

  • I play the piano and a guitar (9 years, 1 year; still crappy at both, lol)
  • I don’t smoke (at all)
  • I have a pet (snake)
  • I love outdoor cycling
  • I love cooking, drinking coffee and green tea and food (a lot)

So I’ve decided that for once I need to show the girls those “good/positive” aspects of my life. I’m really a modest person and I hate when someone asks me: “what are you good at?” or even tells me “wow! You really can play the piano! You can cook! You are amazing” – seriously, I hate that… I simply feel embarrassed and every time this happens I try to instantly talk about something else, but that’s another story…

Anyway, what I way trying to say: take your time; summarize your positive aspects/activities/hobbies etc. and then take a bunch of photos DOING those activities. No women probably swipes right if she sees a guy looking similarly in 4 photos in a row, you know what I mean… I did this with my camera + tripod alone; I took a guitar in my hands, arranged some lights in my room, snapped a few pictures. Then I moved to the piano and did the same. Finally, I snapped myself with a cheeseburger in a fancy restaurant and then I uploaded my photos. Do the same with your activities.

My current arrangement of photos is:

(1) profile pic (whole body visible; sitting on a rock outdoors looking away from camera like I don’t give a shit) -- (2) playing the guitar -- (3) playing the piano -- (4) random selfie in a shirt (I hate them but I want the girls to show them my face – no secrets, lol -- (5) me with that cheeseburger on a plate (upper body shot)

As some of you may notice, yes, I haven’t used any photos featuring neither my pet nor me as a cyclist. I’ve simply chosen randomly and decided that snakes might frighten some girls (yet another group of them may find it sexy, I don’t fking know), and the weather wasn’t so cycling-friendly back in December…

So you may use these kinds of photos to make the girl think you are somehow “interesting”. The quality of those photo is crucial too. If you don’t like the appearance of yourself, try doing black&white effect. It looks better in a certain situations. It seems girls really love black&white photos. You decide.

Now for the second part: make her browse through the photos! I came up with the idea of a “mini-teaser” for my last photo (5). Long story short, I added a “PS” statement at the end of my profile:

“PS: and yes, that cheeseburger was delicious!”

So if a girl manages to read your profile before going through your photos, this “mini-teaser” may help to develop a sudden thought in her brain like: “?? What cheeseburger?” and she might take a look at your pictures again, subconsciously looking for the cheeseburger. And if it’s the other way (girl browses through your photos first), she might not notice such detail at first sight (my cheeseburger is cropped a little in the photo due to Tinder “square photo” limit) so she might look again and it may make her smile I guess… (not confirmed, just my humble guess, really). To sum this paragraph up, do the same with your activities. Find a detail in your photos, mention it cleverly in your “about me” section and hope she notices. Make yourself interesting for her. First sight is (almost) everything on Tinder.

Another thing I use in my “about me” section is this (it begins like this, literary):

“Actions speak louder than words do. So don’t hesitate and swipe left already. Did I mention I have problems with left&right?”

I don’t know whether it’s lame or not, but hey, it’s at least a crappy joke. Women don’t like too serious stuff (it’s just an app for fcks sake) like putting the following in “about me” section:

“looking for serious relationship only”

By the way: this is what I had on my profile during my first 14-20 days or so… No luck with that, lol. So let’s sum up this part. Try to insert funny comment that reacts on some kind of quotation from some famous guy. If it’s clever enough, it may lead to a positive thinking in a woman’s brain. It worked for me for those last 5 or 6 matches.

I’ve tried another modification before this one. Since I have a decent and a unique large watch visible on 4 out of my 5 photos (girls I know in real life say that they are pretty awesome), I added to the ending of my “about me” the following sentences:

“I have an amazing watch, really, you will love them. To see them in real life, swipe right 4sure!”

This one NEVER worked (for me), but I’m sharing this with you anyway (= no matches when using this for a week).

And since I promised you the bonus – my “lines” that worked – here they are. When I matched with a girl, I simply read (and re-read) her profile and tried to say something funny/interesting which relates to her. And when I said: “lines that worked for me”, it means that I actually managed to talk with those girls for a long period of time and eventually see some of them in real life. I guess I don’t have problems with small-talk, but I suck at 1st messages...

  • One girl had a description in her profile that was like: “…I have Tinder just for fun so don’t give me your heart if you wanna get too seriously…” so my first message was: “Since I cannot give you my heart, name, here, take my spades, clubs and diamonds instead.” (I used Android icons for the symbols)
  • Another one was named Victoria, so I tried an allusion: “Hi gorgeous, so… I was just wondering… What’s your secret, Victoria?”
  • I matched with another one on a New Year’s Day so… you already know what I did there: “Wow, I really didn’t expect such a lovely start of 2015. Pleased to meet you, name.
  • Another start was really this simple: “Test.” (I sent instantly 2nd message) “Test 2.” She responded with: “:)” so I replied: “Test 3. Oh, sorry, I meant: Hi. Love your name. Did you know that not every name has the privilege of going on a date with me? You’re welcome.” (and yes, we eventually went on a date later)
  • One girl stated that she is only “visiting Prague for a while” so at least I tried an opener: “Hey, want me to show you around, <name> ? :)” (and yes, we eventually went on a cool walk in Prague, however for me it was just a simple language practice since she only visited Prague for a few days)
  • While I got drunk in the past, I tried this and surprisingly it worked. The girl was from Greece (but lives in Prague nowadays so it’s only a matter of origin). First message went like this: “…and I thought all those stories about Greek goddesses and stuff were lies :o Glad you proved me wrong, name
  • Okay last one guys. There was a chick with a really strange photo (surreal perspective let’s say featuring lots of mirrors) so I simply stated: “Holy sht; I’ve been looking on that photo of yours and I think that I just encountered the biggest mind blow in a long time, lol! Genial! How did you manage to snap it that way? By the way name* is sooo exotic and sooo pleasantly sounding name; but I’m sure every1 tells you that;)”

So that’s it. Hope I wasn’t talking bullshit. Maybe I’m going to write another post about progresses with those (and other) women in a future… who knows if anybody is interested…

Feel free to use or modify any of this for your profit; hope it helps and serves as another source of inspiration for you guys! Best of luck. And most of all – it’s just an app for having fun and potentially meeting someone in real life (at least from my point of view which may change ofc).
