What can I do to appear confident and leave a good impression?

Ask yourself what activities and places you like, instead of asking what she likes. Because when you feel good, you will leave a good impression and pull her into your world with your positive energy.

Imho the first date should also not be something too special. You and her are what makes it special. Doing something exciting would just be a distraction, save that for a later date. For the first date the most important thing is, that you can talk in the most relaxed way.
