It almost seems like this is something everyone else does naturally, where the conversation goes from person, to person to person, randomly, the group acting like a collective unit listening to each person in turn. Its seems intuitive.

The problem I've had since a kid is not knowing when to speak up. The person speaking can just pausing, I'll start to say something, get one or two words out and then they keep speaking, and I shut up. Or they will finish, and JUST as I'm about to start speaking someone else does. Its like when I can talk, even when I'm loud, I'm double talking over someone else and the group isn't paying attention to me at all. Once I become self conscious of this I'm done for, my confidence drops as I assume I just did a very 'omega' thing. Even when I think of what I'm gonna say while theyre speaking, once I'm aware that I'm waiting for a moment to speak it fucks with me, like psyching myself out.

How do I get over this? I want to start going out to a bar alone, and I can't even feel confident speaking in groups of people I know, let alone interject myself into a group of strangers awkwardly as I slowly walk by them, hoping to catch a glimpse of enough conversation to make a point.
