Hi guys
I'm trying to think back over my life and I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever approached a girl when I have not been completely drunk first. Any long term relationships I've had have stemmed from the girl making the first move. I am awkward at initiating conversation or even being brave enough to signal attraction in most cases - I've had girls (met through tinder or PoF, not approached) whilst on dates ask me if I'm gay. I completely get that - I'm not 'touchy feely' and appear quite neutral so I can understand their confusion.
I've been a lurker on here and other things for a while - always reading but never quite believing I could do any of it and resigning myself to being with the best of whoever asked me out.
Well tonight I'd like that to change - I'm going out to a club with some friends and I want to make steps in the right direction. I'm good at spotting when I might interest a girl - lingering looks, holding my gaze, immediately playing with their hair after or while looking, touching whilst passing unnecessarily (plenty of space to walk past), etc. When I've had any of these possible signals I've never approached.
What I'd like to be tonight is to be the master of my own ship. I've read models by Mark Manson and a few other books in the genre - I don't think I'm going to be very good at story telling straight away - for instance whilst paying a cashier and waiting for a payment to go through on a card I find the wait uncomfortable, plus it's going to be a loud club.
I'd like some small steps/advice that I can put into action and slowly start some progression in this area. I'm not setting myself goals too high - I don't intend to bring a girl home tonight just some playful exchanges, a little more than smiles across a dance floor.
So from an absolute novice to the masters who are out there, please put forward some goals / tips / advice that I can build on in this busy, loud environment to hopefully forge my own way. :)
