I was with my son at this beach and sitting close to this really cute girl, who was with her family. My son was eating some pizza and we were taking a break from being in the water. I heard her say, to her dad, "We're supposed to go to the dentist at 2:30."

I had heard this joke before so I just blurted out, "That's a dentist's favorite time."

The girl said, "That's exactly right!" Then she turned to her dad, who was sitting right there and went, "I can't believe you didn't get that!"

The girl and I struck up a converstation and while we didn't exchange numbers or anything she asked me where I was from and some other stuff about myself. The whole family was there, brothers, dad, and mother, and they were leaving. I'm proud of myself for actually engaging with the girl and not just silently muttering the answer to myself or something like that. Next time, even if the family is there, I'm going to go for the number.
