Ignore her. Wait until she contacts you again. She initiated last time, she'll do it again. It may be a week before this happens, so hold out.

When did you originally ask her? If it was less than 24 hours ago you might look a little self-concious if you ask again.

Are we still on for lunch is okay, but I would prefer not to ask that if it was possible, just feels wussish. I think a more productive way to confirm would be to message her saying something along the lines of, "hey message me your number so we can meet up tomorrow". Sounds forward but she already said she was going anyway.

Thanks for the input. I've decided to hold out until she contacts again, as I don't want to seem needy by messaging her again before she messages me.

She never agreed to begin with, so you can't really say are we still on?

Just say, I sent you a message the other day asking if you wanted to grab lunch at such and such time, you up for it?

Say you have other pants on that day, but day X is good. That way you can get a confirmation while holding your value

Sounds like you really rushed into asking out a total stranger. Seems desperate. You should have made her qualify herself A LOT before you put yourself out there like that.

To remedy: Message her back and say "Hey! I hate to do this but I can't make it [today]. If you take the rejection well I might make it up to you someday."

Here's an update for all of you, along with a request for more advice.

I've gone ahead and ignored her for a whole week, which is today. I still have not made any sort of follow up contact due to the fact that she hasn't responded to my original message asking her out to lunch (in retrospect, I shouldn't have done that so quickly and just got her number instead)

However, and I may be reading into this too much, she has posted a couple things on facebook this past week about needing to come to my work to purchase something, as well as posting about being hungry and wanting to go to lunch. All of these posts get deleted by her by the end of the night. This makes me think she is possibly hinting at wanting to connect. Why does she delete these posts she shares with everyone? I don't know.

I really do want to talk to her and take her out, but I can't bring myself to message her again seeing as how she hasn't responded to me asking her out to lunch.

Do I continue ignoring her? Will she message me eventually? What do I do?

Seems I have a case of one-itis (I'm working on this issue), but even if I didn't I would want to know the best way to keep this situation interesting and increase my value to her, in order to facilitate a date.
