You have to take chances, make mistakes, and get messy.

We should have limits on what we accept. Healthy boundaries is a thing, you can google it and everything. But how do you know when something is unacceptable? Experience. And you get that experience by taking chances, making mistakes, and getting messy. Because sometimes you don't know your limits until you learn your limits.
