Hello

my situation with women in life has been kinda average/low, usually dates, not to serious relationships, also the regular rejections, the usual I think, my problem came when I tried a more serious relationship everything started perfect. But usually I just show like my "normal side" to woman. Talk about movies, journeys, food, career... Etc. Usually all that ends totally fine, but in this relationship my friends and family told me that also I shouldn't be afraid to show my nerdy geeky side if she really likes me.

I could say "my weird" side is from regular geek stuff videogames, board games, I am fan of Western animation. To maybe more weird stuff like furry, I collect cartoon plush toys (2 girls I date they liked this tho), I enjoy make fanart, go to convetions, also I have some fetishes (this I really would keep secret).

Back to this relationship I decided to show this side but slowly, first I showed my collection, she apparently liked it, say that I liked board games afternoons with friends, then one day I went to a regular comics convention and she came with me, I could see she was kinda shocked with all the costplay, the huge variety of merch, people older than us, videogame tournaments... Etc. She didn't know anything about pop culture outside marvel movies, Mario Bros and that she played once God of war. In a moment she just wanted to sit down just see someone make some 3D modeling, she stayed quiet for few minutes, then talk of how weird everything was there, and I was trying to explain what is all the deal with this hobbies. After that day I feel like she was more cold with me, we didn't broke up entirely for this, but I felt it was one of the reasons.

After that I started to feel more insecure about been in a relationship and what to do about this weird side, mostly since I didn't show all to her.

Some family and friends have give me some suggestions, but they were contradictory between them, I could summarize them in 3 options:

1) just keep what I was doing and don't be afraid, and in the moment to show that side if she doesn't like that part of me means that it wouldn't work in a longer term, if she like it, congrats.

2) try to change and get rid of all that side of me, because woman doesn't like that kind of guys (this is the option I less like but I've considered it)

3) Be be authentic don't be afraid and be confident to show that part of me (except the fetishes obviously don't be a creep), it would be easier for me to find the kind of woman I want and easier for woman that like that stuff find me. (Because I've met geeky girls but I haven't had luck maybe because I am used to show me as someone "normal" sometimes even I feel I look like I don't have any personality at all because I am trying to be "normal") I like how this approach sounds, but IDK how realistic it is.

I don't know what to really do or do you have any other advices?

P.d.: sorry for any grammar mistakes, English is not my native lenguage.
