(Please note that this is not about just saying that she looks nice, or that she is cute, it’s about expressing how she is making you feel romantically as you speak to her) Flirting is not compliments, flirting is expressing desire for her.

This is something that you should do ideally after you first have told her specifically what traits you like about her and in the first date also. If you didn’t do it in the first date then you are pretty much obligated to do it on the second date assuming she doesn’t cancel it because you didn’t do it on the first one.

To me it seems like you are being too indirect and hiding your intentions, like you call it a date but to me it feels like she never felt this was a date, and that’s because you don’t actually expressed a man to woman vibe by directly expressing that you find her attractive and that her attractiveness has an actual emotional effect on you.

Make a move at a conversation high, like a low risk put your arm around her then go from there
