So until recently, I didn't care about getting a girlfriend or having sex, I just presumed "it would happen when it happens". I would live my life to enjoy it and what would be would be. However I've had a lot of quips from my friends about it over the past few weeks, and there is that slight gnawing in my stomach like I'm missing out, so I thought "to hell with it, a few girls I get on with and like are single (a couple of months) so I'll try and start a conversation some time"

The first girl I initiated conversation on social media, it was her birthday, so an appropriate time to start a conversation with someone I only sort of know. The conversation went well, flowed naturally and we talked for a while, she would always respond within 10/20 minutes which was faster than I was as we were both at school, and a lot of it was fairly flirty. At the end of the day she told me she was going out and had to say goodbye, I suggested that if she was in town that I'd buy her a drink for her birthday. She responded with "aw too cute" and I haven't heard from her since. We didn't meet and I haven't bumped into her at school.

The second girl is a better friend, she went to her previous school with some of my friends, so we met through them, I just happened to be getting the bus home the other day and met her on it, we talked on the way home and I walked her to work, she flirted a lot more and suggested that we meet up over easter which I agreed would be a good idea, but didn't set a date as we both had plans and would have to fit it around all of them. So a few days later I popped up to her, again om social media because I didn't have her number, and asked her about work, and if she wanted to meet. She told me she was busy but didn't suggest a better time, so I agreed, but said if she wanted to just get away from her plans for an hour or so, to give me a call to which I was granted a very Kurt "I don't think I'd want to do that, but thanks" I haven't heard from her since and I'm obviously on easter holidays so haven't seen her.

After both of these suddenly going so wrong, I wondered if I was doing something wrong during the conversation so I went out a few times and tried approaching girls at a club however without fail, upon approach, I would be greeted with sneers and laughs as people attempted to shoo me away, obviously a lot of these posts are about confidence and to not let rejection get to you, but without giving me a chance to open my mouth. A guy starts to wonder

For the record, I don't think I'm unattractive, I have a good body from regular weight training and I play rugby, I'm 6'2" and pretty good teeth, I can describe more if it helps, but I don't think it's the problem, is it my attitude, what I'm saying/ doing?

Sorry for the long post, any and all help would be appreciated
