Hey guys,
I'll try to keep this as short as possible.
Anyways, I went to pick up something from a store early last week and met this really cute cashier (CashierGirl we'll call her). We hit it off very very well and she dropped many clues which should have led me to asking for her number. But I didn't.
I went in the next day to get something else (and ask her out for coffee). We had a nice 30 minute conversation, etc. etc., but I got cold feet and didn't ask again.
Finally yesterday, I worked up the balls which I had previously been lacking to go back and get her number. As luck would have it, she wasn't working that day. A different person working there came up to me and said: "Hey..you're sirslappy123 who was with CashierGirl the other day." We talked for a bit about different things, and eventually parted ways.
I spent the next 5-10 minutes regretting how I hadn't asked CashierGirl the other two times, and was about to leave empty handed again when I finally said "Fuck it." I went up to the different person working there and asked if she knew when CashierGirl would be working next. She told me when, and I proceeded to tell her that I was going to ask her out for coffee and if she knew if she was seeing anyone (which she isn't). [I asked about this because there was some question on if she was married or not and me not asking on top of not knowing if she was even available was beginning to drive me mad.]
Anyways, I'm 25 and this is my first time trying to ask a girl I just met for her number/on a date. The past few relationships I've been in have come out of friends/people in classes that I could gradually get to know.
My main predicament now is figuring out what to do the next time I go in there. She usually works close to 2-3 different people and I feel like it'd be awkward (especially for her if her boss is nearby) to just walk in and say "Hey, do you want to get coffee sometime?"
I do have something I need to eventually return, but I'm assuming she has already been told by a coworker that I was going to ask her out and I wouldn't want to dance around it if she already knows. (Maybe just saying "I need to return this, and do you want to get a coffee" would work) [yes, I'm overthinking this.]
I realized I fucked up in not asking the first two times and am hoping somebody can give some guidance on what to do next.
Thanks!
