I did yoga on and off for a while. I strongly disagree with this suggestion. Few reasons why:

When I was doing yoga, every other week we had a new guy show-up, hit on girls in the class one after another, burn bridges with every girl in the class, then drop out and never come back because most girls are avoiding him by now. If you are already a solid guy with a solid game, then it will work. But, yoga class is no place to learn how to flirt. You will burn bridges with everyone very quickly if you don't already know how to flirt smoothly.
It is extremely hard to transition the girls from yoga class to dates. First of all, as u/eenergabeener mentioned, you will have chance to talk to the girls in yoga class but as he mentioned, you will have very limited time to talk to them (only while getting a towel for few minutes, only when putting your shoes on for few minutes). It takes at least 3-4 weeks for average guy to convert those few minute interractions to a date. After that, you burned the whole class because the other girls will not date you since they all now know you were flirting with and dated the other girl. You are investing 1 to 3 months of your life to get a single date. This is not cost beneficial.
Most of the girls that do yoga are immersed in that lifestyle. So, they are mostly interested in dating guys who also follow that life style. Most girls from yoga will not date you unless you follow similar life style. In my experience, the hotter the girl is, the more she is into yoga/health. The more she is into yoga/health, the more will she expect you to follow the similar life style.

Basically, yoga is good and healthy! Yoga classes will help you improve your life over all. But, yoga classes are no place to learn how to flirt! If you are already a solid guy with solid game, and if you are already into that life style, then do it. You will meet lots of hot girls and some of them will become your friend over time. You might even date one or two of them after investing few months to a year there. But don't go to yoga classes to learn how to flirt or get girls.

I go to yoga because it stops me going insane from anxiety. But honestly, it's the worst place ever to pick up (for me and every other struggling guy).

Most girls there seem very 'flighty', they are often just awkward/depressed/anxious themselves, as some types of yoga are a form of therapy (restoration/yin which I do are for a fair few people anyway). Most of them seem to almost run out the door at the end with no chance of saying hi, and even getting there early to hang around, they aren't there to talk, they'll put their bag in the common room then go into the room to set their mat up. So you have 1 minute to interrupt them as they're putting their bag away or saying hi to the teacher.

If you're some tanned dreadlocked guy who can rave on about auras and chakras while staring into her soul then yeah you might have success. For the rest of us, we might get in a quick perv of a hottie that it's just not worth the risk of talking to if she doesn't run away instantly at the end of the class.

I did have one approach me after class in the nearby supermarket. But she was just a full on hippie type who I don't think I ever had a (sexual) chance with. Her life seems to be nothing but meditation and going on trips to india where she owns a house apparently, to do months of meditation. Meanwhile, the rest of us in the real world have to work for money and not devote our life to sitting on a mat.

Do it because it helps your mind and body, other than that you need to be very advanced.

Also you smile at the guy because they're hot. I sure don't get that when I'm there. I'm a creep to them most likely. I can't even get a hint of eye contact to even smile at a girl so I decided I won't even risk that any more, I go there, do yoga, and leave.
