I wouldn’t say any is a sure fire answer except maybe negating it. But you’d have to gauge the situation specifically. It’s probably pretty clear in the moment if shes saying something to negate it and her intentions are actually otherwise. Notice how she reacts is your best bet. Laughing or no response could be anything and is and very specific to the situation and the girl. If she laughs its to deflect or lighten the mood and play it off or she legitimately thought it was funny. If she doesn’t respond she’s waiting for you to. I’d say go with your intuition in the situation.

I’m a girl (18) and if someone said that while i’d be standing with my crush, I’d likely laugh or even add a ‘pffff naaah!’ but in a VERY jokey way, not in a ‘disgusted by the idea’ way. If they actually use words instead of just silence/laughter, listen to the tone. It’ll help!

EDIT: it’s not something to easily say ‘yes! we would be’ to even if you have a crush on someone, unless you’ve already established they want to be a couple too.

If she laughs or stays silent and smiles, you have a chance. I usually don’t negate or oppose that comment if I like the guy. I only do that to those I’m oblivious towards or those I have a platonic feelings.

Yes it can be difficult identifying female reactions, I myself have autism and it makes understanding social situations difficult. But to answer your question, her reaction really dosen't matter, the only way to figure out if she's it you is when you look to the other side of the class and you catch her mirin' them calves (Protip: flex every muscle everytime you think a girl is looking)
