There are two articles that I have recently read and wanted to bring them here for discussion. I found both of these in other subreddits, but I don't want to crosspost them as I'm more interested in your thoughts than your thoughts on their thoughts (if that makes sense). Both of these articles look at masculinity, how it is portrayed and felt by men (the second article) and women (the first).

The first one entitled Do Women Withhold Honest Sexual Communication When They Believe Their Partner’s Manhood is Threatened?, suggests that women are more likely to fake an orgasm if they make more money than their partner, if their partner's manhood is threatened, or if their partner feels insecure in their manhood.

The second article Men more likely to respond negatively to gender challenges, study finds says that men who feel like their masculinity is challenged (their measure being braiding hair vs braiding rope, deemed feminine vs masculine activities) will feel threatened and try to "earn" back their masculinity by participating in more masculine pursuits (punching a bag vs doing a puzzle).

I would be interested in hearing your take aways or opinions on these both. Particularly, how should these inform efforts to broaden the world that men can occupy? How much onus should be put on men vs women vs society to make the structural changes needed for men to live as they want, free from forced and contrived gender standards?
