Not sure if this is appropriate for MGTOW, but after reading a post about how men behaved vs. women after a car accident, I thought I'd share my experience.
I own a vintage car from the sixties. Back in the summer, I was having issues with the fuel pump. One night I was one the way to putting it back in the garage, when the pump finally failed. I was closer to my house than to where I store it, so after unsuccessfully trying to get it started, I thought the best thing to do was to get it back to my house. Fortunately, a man stopped to help me and we worked out a plan as to how to get it back. We had to be careful, as we were on a busy street. The plan was to push the car backwards about 100 yards, which would get me to the top of my street, which is a downward hill. Once we got there, it was only a matter of pushing it a few feet so it would roll down to my driveway (with me steering, obviously).
So, me and the guy push the car backwards. It's from the sixties, so it's very heavy. I'm at the driver's door pushing and steering, he's at the front, pushing. We get it back to my street. At that point, we have to push it forward, but I need to turn the wheel to the right to steer it to my street. So the guy is at the back pushing, and I'm at door, pushing and trying to turn the wheel at the same time. Remember, this is a busy street, so traffic is flying past us.
Next thing you know, some girl, about 25 years old shows up. Now, to her credit, at least she stopped and came by to help. I give credit for that. She says she can help and jumps in the driver's seat before I can say anything. I say, ok, whatever, she can steer the car, so I tell her to turn the wheel to the right, which she does, while I and the other guy push from the back. We finally get the car to the top of my street, aimed down the hill.
At that point, I run up to her and tell her thank you, we're all set, I'll take it from here (didn't want it rolling down the hill with her at the wheel).
So here's where I have the problem. At that point, she gets out of the seat, and starts this celebratory dance, saying to the effect how she, as a woman, saved the day. It was all "Girl Power!" and "A woman saved the day" and all that bullshit. All she did was turn a fucking steering wheel. She acted as if she jacked the car up and rotated all the tires on the side of the road.
Meanwhile, the guy who stopped to help me walked down to my house and helped me get it in the driveway. I got his name, offered him a beer (which he refused) and drove him back to his car. No self congratulation, no "aren't I great I stopped and helped you" attitude. I thanked him, we shook hands, and he left. End of story.
AWALT.
