So I have been doing so research on alcohol and the effects on relationships. Totally unrelated to this site. But the more I dug the more I saw a theme. When the husband was a heavy drinker he was labeled as an alcoholic and being "emotionally abusive" yet the woman was drinking to express her lack of fullfillment. Which was the man's obligation to provide. It kind of got me ticked because I was trying to do hard research but the gender bias even effects studies on alcohol.
