Ironically rogues strength and flight in the 90s came from her absorbing Carol Danvers aka in the 90s Ms Marvel's powers to the point it killed her. They even showed this in the old 90s X-Men cartoon where her persona and memories were fighting with rogues.

There was never a need to turn Ms.Marvel into Captain Marvel because she was fine as she was. She was just one of those characters who did better as part of a team instead of on her own. It would be no different if Marvel tried to make Wonder Man some top tier hero. Characters like Ms Marvel and Wonder Man just work better as Avengers only characters.

Sad part is I actually liked the Captain Marvel comics. This shouldn't have been just a holdover to satiate people until Endgame; this could have stood fine on its own. Brie Larson, Disney and their bullshit ruined what could have been a good movie.

That wouldn't have necessarily been possible - consisering Wonder Woman is part of DC and Captain Marvel is obviously Marvel. Unless the two companies decided to do a cross over event - this is VERY unlikely.
