I live in a large UK city. The amount of residential building going up is incredible. And it is ALL geared toward single people. They are studio type apartments about the same size as a decent hotel suite and similar layouts. I know that before investors and build these things they take a hard look at trends in living. From what I can see they are 100% sure the future is single living. Also in the suburbs the trend is towards smaller housing. Not family housing.
