Also Schopenhauer:
”The nobler and more perfect a thing is, the later and slower is it in reaching maturity. Man reaches the maturity of his reasoning and mental faculties scarcely before he is eight-and-twenty; woman when she is eighteen; but hers is reason of very narrow limitations. This is why women remain children all their lives, for they always see only what is near at hand, cling to the present, take the appearance of a thing for reality, and prefer trifling matters to the most important.
It is by virtue of man’s reasoning powers that he does not live in the present only, like the brute, but observes and ponders over the past and future; and from this spring discretion, care, and that anxiety which we so frequently notice in people. The advantages, as well as the disadvantages, that this entails, make woman, in consequence of her weaker reasoning powers, less of a partaker in them. Moreover, she is intellectually short-sighted, for although her intuitive understanding quickly perceives what is near to her, on the other hand her circle of vision is limited and does not embrace anything that is remote; hence everything that is absent or past, or in the future, affects women in a less degree than men. This is why they have greater inclination for extravagance, which sometimes borders on madness. Women in their hearts think that men are intended to earn money so that they may spend it, if possible during their husband’s lifetime, but at any rate after his death.
Women are . . . big children all their life--a kind of intermediary stage between the child and the full-grown man.”

Arthur Schopenhauer, the great pessimist philosopher, lived the last 30 years of his life in two rooms of a boarding house alone but for a dog called Atma (an Indian word meaning world-soul). Most nights he dined at the Englischer Hof, and every night he dined there he put a gold coin in front of him at the start of the meal and replaced it once he had finished.
Eventually a waiter asked him why he did it. He answered that it was a wager with himself. He said that he would drop the coin into the poor box in the church if the English officers who dined there ever talked of anything but horses, women, or dogs.

I sometimes think that you’re what you think people think you are. It’s impossible to isolate yourself from what you think the opinion of the other person is of you. We are social animals. Obtaining the power to not give the slightest fuck about what the other person thinks must be something of divinity. I have met only a few who has achieved that. Hope to achieve it one day myself.

I've got a tip for you, imagine life is a single player open world game. You enjoy single player games right? Do you give a fuck about rankings and shit on a single player game? No, just go explore, fuck about and have a good time.
Keep yourself single, fit and rich and boom! you have the three main ingredients required to cook yourself a great fuckin' life.

umm no, we are not social animals in the way you think we are. We do not strive for friendship or love or anything like that. The term social means to create and belong to a tribe, for humans couldn't survive on their own for the majority of our existence cuz we have no claws or teeth to attack or defend against animals.

Then why do you need this group of men online to affirm your unconventional chosen path? Why do you post here to hear from others? Can’t you just read it and think about it and then leave it at that? There is even research that shows once social interactions are withdrawn from humans, they exhibit proneness to mental and even physical deterioration. Even animals which are on a lower level of self awareness need social interactions. Take your dog, they no longer need protection because you own them but they still love to play with their friends. Tribe isn’t just for physical survival.

I do what I want. If I read, I read. If I post, I post. I am a researcher, I gather information, I share information. There is no black and white here, it is all grey area. My statement was that there is too much brainwashing inflicted upon people to think they really need others because they say we are social animals. We do not need others nearly close as we are led or trained to believe.
I am perfectly fine not interacting with anyone for days, even weeks or months. But when I do, I do it gladly if it suits my taste. If it is worth my time. I do not socialize because I need to, I do it because it can be interesting.
You are the one who cares what others think about you. You come here leading with the statement that you think that you are what you think people think you are. That is on you. You did not make a friend with yourself. That is why you use the term we are social animals to defend your lack of confidence. Because you can't live with yourself and you think that is impossible. Your own words. " Obtaining the power to not give the slightest fuck about what the other person thinks must be something of divinity."
This is what I am saying when I say that we are not social animals in the way you think we are. You search for people to please you because you can't handle your me-time and who you are. And then you go overboard telling me that I should behave as an asocial person trying to prove to me that my statements are wrong.
Nah. There are many people who do not need others to be happy and to function. The key word being "need". And that is what I am trying to say. That need is bullshit.
Smart.
