I've ghosted and I never had any guilt. That sub is more of a no-contact with ex's. I'm a big believer in that. My reasoning is that the relationship has not changed; it's over....deleted. When my wife divorced me, she was surprised by this attitude. I had no contact except for coordination with the kids. Why in the world would I want any conversation with her. She finally left me a lone after 5 years.

I had an ex-gf start texting me several months ago. It was my first gf following my divorce. I met her once for lunch (mistake) after we broke up, and she shared that she was married, blah, blah, blah. She started getting a little too close to me and I ended that lunch early. Jeez, she wanted to cheat on her new husband with me. Remember the Ashley-Madison leak? I did searches through that for everyone I knew, just having fun. I found this married ex-gf on there with something like 10 accounts. I created a throwaway email account and chastised her for "finally finding happiness" in a marriage and then cheating. She only responded with "who are you?".

Anyway, she started texting me several months ago. I responded politely at first then she told me she was married, yet again, and happy this time. I let her have it. Told her I knew about her Ashley-Madison accounts and that she'd never be happy in any marriage when she cheats on every husband. She told me she didn't remember me being so mean. We're back to no-contact again.

Beyond the initial entertaining factor it's actually very disturbing how fixated those people are on passed relationships when I suspect most of them were never in relationships just sold themselves on the idea of obsessing over another person without realizing that person may just not be into them but using them as they saw fit.

It's like a place for people with low self esteem and abandonment issues to share each other's self loathing and bond over their insecurities

My reddit journey after my breakup started with /Breakups, quickly on to /ExNoContact and then I soon found /AskTRP & /MGTOW, I left the first two subs as it became increasingly clear that they were holding me back.

Far too many people on those groups that spend years never getting over a breakup or ghost with the intention of getting her back, ultimately holding back recovery.
