Indian actor Shivam Patil speaks up about surviving domestic abuse & child abuse. This horrid case raises questions about the gender bias of laws that exclude male victims from protection, safety, and justice.

The IG post is also linked to videos of him being abused by his mother, they're in an Indian language and it's pretty graphic. The Indian domestic violence & rape law is not gender neutral, i.e it states only a woman can be a victim and only a man can be a perpetrator. Pretty insane. More men need to support each other when a male victim manages to speak up like this, I'm glad an international advocacy organization backed him up here. Attempts to silence him have been going on for some time now for speaking up against female abusers.
