Men, boys, and their children who are victims of domestic and sexual violence in Australia face illegal gender discrimination. For example:

[Kidsafe NT chief executive Victoria Pollifrone said] “It’s very important not to judge people placed in situations where stress levels are so high they do irrational things to vulnerable children.

“Women who are victims of domestic violence should seek help from relevant support agencies long before it reaches such a crisis point.”

Mother used one-year-old baby as weapon in Alice Springs street fight MATT GARRICK AND MARIA BILLIAS NT NEWS MARCH 21, 2015 8:44AM http://www.ntnews.com.au/news/centralian-advocate/mother-used-one-year-old-baby-as-weapon-in-alice-springs-street-fight/story-fnk4wgm8-1227272439724

While Kidsafe NT is ostensibly a "non-government, not-for-profit, charitable organization dedicated to the prevention of childhood injuries in Northern Territory" they are funded by the NT Dept of Health (kidsafe dot com dot au), and operate in conjunction with authorities.

This creates the appearance that public officials are discriminating against male victims of domestic and sexual violence, and worse, appear to be actively seeking excuses from abusive mothers to excuse women's acts of child abuse.

Such discrimination endangers men boys and their children, including the baby above, and is a violation of Australian law:

Affirming that every individual is equal before and under the law, and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law, without discrimination on the ground of sex ..

Sex Discrimination Act 1984

Discrimination against men, boys, and their children who are victims of sexual violence or domestic violence is a violation of their rights under the Commonwealth Charter.

Human Rights ".. We note that these rights are universal, indivisible, interdependent and interrelated and cannot be implemented selectively. We are implacably opposed to all forms of discrimination, whether rooted in gender, race, colour, creed, political belief or other grounds." ( commonwealth dot org )

Gender Equality: "We recognise that gender equality and women’s empowerment are essential components of human development and basic human rights" ( commonwealth dot org)

Australian men, boys, and their children who are victims of domestic or sexual violence are also victims of illegal discrimination need your help. I urge you to learn to do what is right, to defend the rights of oppressed boy and man victims, to take up the cause of children left fatherless by illegal discrimination, and to plead the case of the widowed second wives of male victims who commit suicide because of the injustices they face.

Australian men, boys, and their children need your help. For now, they must hope for justice, and persevere.
