I had an idea today that I wanted to run by yall. I was thinking that something this sub could use is debate practice. Some of us are great at refuting feminists, others not so much. I think it might be a good idea for once every so often to have a Devil's Advocate Debate (see what I did there) in which a volunteer plays the part of a feminist and tries to throw everything they can into an argument such as the pay gap. Then others will comment back debating whatever the topic is.

Simple enough, sorta like a men's rights debate club where anyone here can watch or participate. I would do the first one, and after that others could start to do their own, so long as the posts don't get to be too many.

The minds and hearts of those around us are our battlefields. Servicemembers don't go into battle ill-prepared, so why should we? We need to be prepared for when inevitable conversations come up and we have to defend our positions on social issues. Doing this here would give those participating good practice, and those that just watch can get good pointers and tips on what works and what doesn't.

Only a couple rules that would be implemented with this:

1) Civility- Stay civil. No matter how vitriolic feminists can be, we have to be the bigger ones and be respectful. It isn't fair, but because we are fighting an uphill battle, we are the ones that have to be the better people, or we get lambasted for being assholes. Same applies to this series. It is training for the real world, so that is how we treat it like it is the real world.

2) Sources- Just like before, we are treating this like the real world, and in a real argument you can't just whip out a link to a website and past it on their forehead. If you have to look something up then look it up and summarize in the comment. Don't just copy and paste a link. Still give the main source for the information the way you would in real life, but don't hide behind a hyperlink.

I want to know what you all think of this. If you would like to see this happen, if you have any suggestions, etc. I hope you guys want to see this happen, and if I get enough positive feedback, I will make Devil's Advocate Debates (D.A.D.) a thing.
