There was a pretty good discussion of this on /r/movies last week. I thought we put an end to this my using our voices to express our distaste of this idea. Or maybe movie producers don't care what people who use the internet think about their ideas.

But yeah, please make Bond a woman, and have her bang all the hot chicks. Though I'd like an actress who brings more to the role. Maybe Pam Anderson.

Strangely, I think the studio will wait and see if / how far the ghostbuster things bombs before crossing that bridge.

It's not possible for Eon Productions to make James Bond a woman, because to do so would breach their licence with the estate of Ian Feming. The actor playing Bond also cannot voice or appear outside the 007 franchise during it's cycle of production, which is why Daniel Craig doesn't appear in other films, and why no advertising of product features Bond.

In short, it is not possible for Bond to be a woman unless Barbera Broccoli and Michael T. Wilson want to return a £8bn franchise to the author's estate.
