Not exactly.

Every high-profile criminal ever arrested, including serial killers, has always received female correspondence by the hundreds. And a good percentage of those women are not clinically insane.

In my country, a book about it was recently released, with some data and interviews with ultra-violent criminals and the women who got to know them through media coverage and dated/married them when they were behind bars. I don't know if a similar account exists elsewhere.

Women seem to be attracted to men who stand out in some way, any way, and men also seem to be predisposed to seek to stand out in any way they can. The vast majority of record holders are male, about 99% of impressive (and retarded) feats and stunts you will ever find youtube are performed by males, impressive hobbies (LEGO this and that), etc. There's a reason it's not a TRON Woman.
