This article mostly attacks the individuals rather than their ideas - even though like most "gender studies" academics I'm sure they've said some ridiculous things. The article would have been a stronger attack if it were dismantling their philosophy instead of individual character

That is correct, after three decades of effort, begging for (and then spending) money, and the current territorial, defensive reaction we are witnessing from the men’s studies leadership, we are left with a discipline that for all practical purposes does not exist, except in a handful of publications and in the minds of an intellectually incestuous group of ideologues seeking their fifteen minutes of fame.

Maybe because most men aren't stupid enough to get such a worthless degree? Its not even as academically rigorous as an English degree - gender studies and other "ism" studies aren't academic at all, because they start from a viewpoint and then try to prove that instead of interpreting events and coming to conclusions from those events. There are no jobs for gender studies majors in academia - getting a phd in it would be a colossal waste of money, especially when schools across the nation are actively cutting humanities You know the average # of applicants for a full-time tenure-track job in the humanities? Its around 300 for community colleges and often upwards of 600 for 4 year institutions.

You attack Ben Atherton-Zeman because ... he has a "hyphenated surname" and made a joke once about being a "recovering sexist."?
