At that point we have to assume that they do NOT want to stop men killing themself.

They want that men kill themself.

To big stupidity to take other conclusions.

The Australian National Association of Practicing Psychiatrists (NAPP) has recognised that Australia is experiencing a mental health crisis, a crisis confirmed by the continuing failure to reduce the number of Australians taking their own lives every year. The NAPP identified a lack of appropriately funded mental health services and mental health hospital beds as a major contributing factor to the avoidable loss of life due to suicide. The Association also noted that across the world the introduction of new mental health policies, acts and plans are associated with increased suicide rates, relative to other health initiatives.

In Australia male suicide rates have stagnated or climbed over several decades despite increased funding and government attention. It appears that continuing to appoint feminist academics and administrators to Australian suicide prevention initiatives and research grants has resulted in no noticeable improvement, or arguably, a substantial worsening of the male suicide crisis in Australia.

Unfortunately, the NAPP suggested response is to divert government funding away from the feminist dominated “not for profit” service model currently rerunning failed initiatives, to mainstream mental health services (i.e. NAPP). However, most male suicides have no prior mental health history, and may not benefit from this change in funding model.

So it seems Australia will throw more money and effort at the same old failed ideological responses to the male suicide crisis, with no critical unbiased review of effectiveness or cost effectiveness, while thousands of men kill themselves every year.
