Germany is in the top 5 with 1,22,171 +ve, 2736 deaths.

Finland where leaders were all women, had a complaint about lack of leadership. Few memes cropped up over that.

Spain's feminists probably did a massive role in spreading the pandemic with their pro woman march just a day before lock down, with arguments that lock down date was extended a day just so that the govt. was not ready to face ire of feminists without any kind of humane principles.

French and Italy are feminist fountain heads in west with constant barrage of feminist policies.

Needless to talk about UK.

Yeah, I've seen that meme all over my Facebook timeline, posted by male feminists.

In the case of my country, Australia, the data says the opposite.

Of the countries named in the meme, Australia is doing MUCH better than Germany, Denmark & Belgium, a bit better than Finland and only New Zealand is doing slightly better than us. Australia has a conservative government where the prime minister and a large majority of ministers are male.

It's a flawed argument, similar to the wage-gap. Strip away all nuance and conclude that the contributing variable is solely gender.

Correlation and causation are different things.

Even if there would be correlation with countries with women heading the government, that's just correlation, it does not have to mean anything.

Places like Spain, Italy, France with a huge tourism sector are the most affected, the more infected going to your country, the worse. It's not like Germany doesn't, I think you could kind of debunk the other 7 although Germany might be not really counting all the infected as covid but as pneumonia as Japan does (not saying they are lying or hiding, just treating the virus as something different).

Singaporean here. The person shown in this meme next to the name Singapore is our president Ms Halimah Yacob (a ceremonial title in Singapore unlike in the US) whereas our actual head of state is our Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong, a man who is doing a great job of managing the crisis.

By the way, as of current count, Germany is No. 4 in total number of Covid cases. Belgium is No. 10.

Germany, in comparison to say, France and the UK, is doing better.

Finland is doing better than its Scandinavian counterparts, but is still worse off than many countries with 5M people.

New Zealand is doing well.

Belgium is absolutely horrid in its handling.

Norway is a mess for their population.

Switzerland is even worse for population size.

Singapore probably handled the outbreak best.

All in all, I don't think there is any correlation between genders and the handling of the pandemic. Some women are doing well, some aren't. Same with men.

Would like to see the gender ratio of the top governmental officials in those countries. Because attributing country's efficiency with dealing with pandemic solely to PM is only slightly less ignorant than attributing it to the Queen.

Nope. Just look at Finland, just a few months after electing their new feminist government comprised of the prime minister's friends the country is now getting royally fucked due to a lack of leadership.
