Go on the feminist run domestic violence websites and the websites for their shelters. These are the only websites for any shelters. Look at what they say.

Now imagine a world with the exact same situation, but with the genders reversed. Imagine a world where domestic violence against men is discussed, and awareness raised. Imagine shelters for men, which do not allow women victims. When the rare mention of women is made, it is almost entirely mentioning women are perpetrators of domestic violence against men.

Now imagine a women who is a victim of domestic violence. She goes on the internet looking for a shelter and a way to get away from the perpetrator. She encounters this world which portrays women only as perpetrators of domestic violence. Would such a women be encouraged to come forward? Of course not. In fact this hypothetical system would if anything inhibit her from coming forward.

Of course, this is not the world that women live in. It is the world that male victims of domestic violence experience. But feminists say abused men have 'toxic masculinity' when they refuse to come forward. No. Feminists have created a system which systemically discriminates against male victims of domestic violence. They ignore that and dishonestly try to blame the victim.

The paper examined domestic violence from a dimension that is not common in the literature, wherein the females are the perpetrators; a subject area that has received very little academicattention in Nigeria as a whole, and even far less in Ibadan North Local Government area. It identified the factors that have been implicated in domestic violence against men in the home, specifically focusing on abuses perpetrated against men by women. It has confirmed that perpetrators of domestic violence against men are varied. It refutes notions that give the impression that men are only abusive to women while women are passive recipients of abuse. The under-reporting of domestic violence against men due to embarrassment or fear of ridicule is a major challenge in Nigeria as a result of the sensitive nature of the subject. The victims are often in self-denial. Male victims are often disbelieved due to the patriarchal nature of the Nigerian society wherein it is believed that men are usually spouse-abusers.
