The most offensive thing about this article is that they call the boys "slackers" in this title.

Let's analyze the title of the post vs. the title of the article.

Good job OP. This is an excellent title. It says exactly what the article says: female teachers mark male students harder when they know the identity of the pupil than an independent anonymized control group.

This is a biased title. First of all, they refer to the boys as slackers - I'll get to that in a second. The second is they refer to the results as "poor". This is ambiguous - does "results" mean "quality of work" or "grade on the work". When taken with "schoolboy slackers", it suggests that boys are not working hard enough and turning in poor quality work.

Next, the language describes the female teachers as being "blamed". "Blame" is an interesting word because it doesn't imply fault - it implies accusation. The OP's title asserts the results of the study, there is a causal relationship. The word "blame" only implies that an accusation was made. In fact, the headline (which may be the only thing many people read) could easily be interpreted that 'Someone is blaming Female teachers for the poor quality work of boys who don't try very hard at school'.

It is extremely subtle wordplay that gives this article a pro-female anti-male slant even though the content of the study clearly shows that female teachers show biases.

The real headline should get across the two major points of the study:

This isn't really news, but it's nice to see actual studies done.

We've been discussing for a while though how the combination of female dominated education, hysteria against male teachers, and misandrist feminism all form a triad of oppressive treatment for boys.

I wouldn't say mark harder, but perhaps they look for things that boys don't focus on. For example in a lot of my university classes that were in male dominated fields, information was more important than presentation, while in the more female dominated ones the opposite was true.

As a New Zealander, this doesn't surprise me. Teen girls here are renowned for being completely retarded.
