Hi everyone. My boyfriend and I have been together for a few years now. We are young adults and follow a traditional relationship. We are long distance (about 2 hours) during the semester and on breaks/summer we are not long distance so it's not 100% of the time.

We got back to school and I am already starting to feel disconnected from him. I feel like he is trying to focus on his school work- which is fine! I support it. But I still don't like feeling like he is so distant from me even though we talk every single day.

We have had discussions on how men feel love versus how women do. He often says that women fall in love with what guys say and men fall in love with what women do for them. I know that he really feels this way because his love language is acts of service. It's easy for me to show this kind of love when we are back at home, but it's harder when we are apart because I can't actually do anything for him. He isn't quite receptive to words like I miss yous, I love yous, and stuff along the lines expressing that I am thinking of him. I know it doesn't mean that he does not love me, he has a different love language.

That being said, how can I show him that I love him by doing something for him when we are long distance during the school year? The only thing I can think of doing is sending him things that I baked in my free time, sending letters, and sending some gifts. But I want to do something for him that will help him out and make his life easier. I also really do not want it do look forced.

Any suggestions?

Tldr; need advice on how to show acts of service love to long distance boyfriend
